Since 1995,
the North American Araucanian Royalist Society has worked to promote awareness
in the English-speaking world of the history and claims of the Kingdom of
Araucania and Patagonia. The NAARS is an independent society and has no
official standing with the Royal House of Araucania, the Mapuche nation, or the
Republics of Chile and Argentina. The NAARS is aa 501(c)7 non-profit
organization under U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
The NAARS publishes The Steel Crown, a scholarly journal containing
articles about the Kingdom, the activities of the Royal House, and the life,
culture and struggle of the Mapuche people. Back issues of The Steel Crown
are available for $7.50 per copy.
The NAARS hosts periodic
dinners in New York City, Philadelphia and Washington to commemorate events
connected with the history of the Kingdom of Araucania and Patagonia. Our next
gala event will be held in Philadelphia on November 13, 2010 to commemorate the
150th anniversary of the founding of the kingdom.
